Refrigerated Air Dryers Manufacturers & Suppliers

Refrigerated air dryers are used in compressed air systems to take water out of the air. Hot air leaves the compressor at about 40 - 50 °C and is fully saturated. Inside the dryer this air meets the cold outgoing stream in a pre cooler plus cools to roughly 20 °C - part of the water turns into liquid at this stage. The air then passes through an evaporator heat exchanger where a refrigeration circuit drops the temperature to 3 - 10 °C. At this low temperature almost all remaining water vapour condenses into droplets. A separator with either spinning motion or baffles gathers the droplets and automatic drains send the water to waste. The refrigeration loop works like any freezer - refrigerant gas is compressed, gives up heat in the condenser, expands through a valve but also becomes cold while it evaporates. After separation the now dry air flows back through the pre cooler and warms almost to the original temperature - this step stops condensation on external pipes as well as lowers the cooling load. Non cycling dryers keep the compressor running all the time - cycling versions stop and start the compressor as needed or save 20 - 40 % power when demand falls. Users normally see 15 - 25 % less energy use, little upkeep and the purchase cost recovered in one or two years because the equipment avoids rust next to freeze damage.
